Results Round Up - 16th Nov '14

Quiet weekend for XC racing around the UK... King Alfreds Tower was the place to be if you needed your weekly fix of race action.
Gillingham and District Wheelers Winter XC series (Round 2)
A good turnout for the first woodland race of the Gillingham District Wheelers Club Mountain bike series took place at King Alfreds Tower on a short but challenging circuit . Slippery roots, log jumps, lots of mud and a tough climb, made for a hard race. Most competitors coming to grief at least once or twice.
Winner Kim Little was pushed quite close for the first two laps before gaining a small gap. Nigel Brown, Chris Noble and Ryan Mckee swapped places for the whole of the race in a front group .These four lapped the whole field to finish on eight laps each.
Next up was Nathan Collins on his single speed who got past Liam Teesdale on the third lap and held him off until the end.
There were some nice groups battling for places throughout the whole race.
Rosie Brown who changed her mind at the start and took her coat off after every body left the start line, set off well behind the whole field managing to get to sixteenth place before dropping back to eighteenth by the end finishing first lady.
James Howel, the only junior, rode well but lost a couple of places to senior riders finishing 17th overall.
