When the project started a year ago, the aim was simple; help to create a buzz around Cross-Country and Endurance mountain biking again. Help established events reach new audiences, experienced riders find new challenges and help new racers find their feet within the warm and welcoming XC MTB community.

In March this year the project evolved into UKXCNews.com, meaning we could reach even more people with news, interviews, features, guides and reviews. Every month, the number of visitors to the site has grown and grown and we now find ourselves building a team of like-minded people, all with the same goal... to see Cross-Country mountain biking grow!

So... With that said, I'm thrilled to unveil the newest member of our editorial team.

I'm extremely pleased to announce that Craig Bowles will be joining UKXCNews.com and taking on the role of chief reviewer.

Mountain bike racing fanatic Craig Bowles started racing in 1989 at the Mountain Bike Club National Series race held at Cannock Chase back in the days of rigid forks, cantilever brakes & thumbshifters. Over the ensuing 25 years he’s raced all formats from 20 minute Juvenile XC races to the 24 Hour Solo World Championships. Two wheels have taken him to events all around the UK, many overseas adventures, a few wins and lots of friends.

Craig joins our team as reviews editor, and will be using his wealth of experience from all levels of the sport to bring you our specific and race focused product reviews. The aim is to bring you product tests that cover the full spectrum of XC race equipment, from credit card melting carbon through to the wallet friendly trickle down technology, we're here let you know how it performs come that all important race day. Craig will be basing his reviews on how they shape up at various events around the UK and will be reporting back on how well they've coped with the rigours of XC racing. No trail centre car parks, no jollies to the local pub and no leisurely jaunts... If it's meant to be raced, we'll race it!

Craig is ready to roll, so be sure to check back soon as he prepares his first set of race tested reviews!

If you have any questions regarding the UKXCNews.com race tested reviews or you require more information on the test process, then you can contact Craig directly at Craig@UKXCNews.com
