Legendary London evening summer XC race series is back in 2016 for its 24th season as Beastway rides again at Hog Hill in London with two new Saturday events around the regular Wednesday evening series. There are NINE races in total in the series and the last round will be the decider, with racers' seven best results to count. Beastway has run every year since 1993. It’s seen national champions and Turner Prize-winning artists join its hour-long blast of mass start short course racing on a summer’s evening. It’s a popular and accessible workout now based at Hog Hill in Hainault.

The series is delighted to welcome a new series title sponsor Tradervan. They source and finance vans throughout the UK. Hackney GT clothing remains a series sponsor and prime mover in the series. The regular crew of Russ Jones, Bruce Mackie, Michael Humphreys, Drew Jones, Noah Smith, Jarvis Goodyear of Epping Forest MTB, plus many volunteers and the Lee Valley Youth CC run the series with your offers of help always welcome.

We missed the series opener in April, the first of the Saturday events but reports are it was a hugely popular start to the 2016 campaign with 110 entries and a great opportunity to bed down the new course. Next up is the first of the evening rounds, starting on Wednesday 18th May and running every week until June 29th. The series wraps up with the finale on Saturday 2nd July. Each week sees a different version of the short course to keep the 1 hour Senior race fresh and exciting.
